The Mabati Medical Centre (MMC) attends around 35,000 patients in Kilifi County every year. Here, healthcare services are far and few between, with most lacking the necessary human and medical resources to serve their communities. This is especially concerning during a global pandemic. At MMC, we believe that by continuing to provide our basic quality healthcare services at a low fee of $3.19, we can ensure that our elders, parents and children can lead healthier and more productive lives.

Challenge

Step inside the shoes of someone suffering from tuberculosis in Kilifi County and you will find that, aside from ours, not many clinics can serve your needs. At the Mabati Medical Centre, we have the human expertise to treat a TB patient but our x-ray machine is in need of replacement, our drugs are in short supply, pregnant mothers need quality antenatal care, our staff need PPE during the COVID-19 pandemic. We want to ensure that every patient gets specialize treatment and diagnostic services.

Long-Term Impact

Around 81% of the community relies on crafts, casual labor, subsistence agriculture and trivial trading for their livelihoods. We believe a healthy economy = a thriving economy. Our quality healthcare services ensure that people are strong, resilient and focused enough to build better lives.
