Education is the key to ensuring that young people in our care break the cycle of poverty and abuse, and this project will ensure that the most needy of our children will receive the education they deserve in 2022, as we seek to fund some of those special education needs, and counselling requirements.

Challenge

When we accept children into our care at Thandanani their educational background has in many instances been almost non-existent or significantly compromised and it becomes a challenge to give them the education they deserve. To try and correct the wrongs that have been done to them in the past it is often necessary to spend additional money on special education and psychological counselling, to get them to an acceptable standard for regular schools so that they can eventually find a career.

Long-Term Impact

The long term impact is that these children will not leave us and enter the same downward spiral as their parents, but will be able to earn a living and become contributing members of society.
