This project will make high-quality educational events and programs on international affairs, including talks, conferences, and competitions, more accessible to the 150,000-plus students in Orange County. While the world becomes more interconnected than ever, education on world issues is still lacking in our communities. With this project, younger audiences will be exposed to the insights shared by leaders more closely, and learn and share knowledge of world issues among their peers nationwide.

Challenge

Our need in the community is more important today than ever before. The increasingly interconnected world we live in has been highlighted by the impact of Covid-19. While the importance and need of a global perspective is clear, statistics on global issues being taught in secondary school are disappointingly non-existent. This project will provide an opportunity for students to gain a global perspective on the leading issues of today and prepare them to be global citizens.

Long-Term Impact

Equipped with a truly global vision and a wider perspective, the next generation of leaders can better understand the challenges and opportunities they face, and think about the role they play and the ways in which they can contribute to the local and global communities. Many competitors of Academic World Quest have gone on to prestigious universities, such as Stanford and Yale.
