The rural area Pakistan is very poor, they have limited resources of living. The parents of children with hearing impairment can not afford the purchase of a Hearing Aid for their child because low income & poverty. This project will provide free Hearing Aids to 50 children in one phase then will increase number as per fund raising. The free screening, installation, pre & post speech therapy will be provided at NDF Rehab Center to cover hearing loss.
Challenge
Hearing Aid is expensive device, the poor parents can not afford, this device provides support in hearing & reduce vulnerability of hearing. The device is used in case of screening results & recommendation by Audiologist. There is different frequencies for different devices. Cochlear implant is a device used in inner side of ear meanwhile others are used in external side. The Cochlear implant device is very expensive to afford. there is need of pre-post speech therapies.
Long-Term Impact
The potential Long-term impact will be that the persons with hearing impairment will be able to listen & live their life independently. People are poor, they will get free facility to avail device & operation of Cochlear implant. This practice will bring sustainable impact in the lives of persons with hearing impairment.
